Chef David Rocco, eTalk Daily’s Traci Melchor and Jeanne Lottie turn up the heat in the kitchen in support of Pink Bedroom Party 2009!

Absolutely nothing could amuse your bouche more than deliciously-talented, Toronto chef extraordinaire, David Rocco!  Rocco’s culinary creations on Dolce Vita have inspired the hors d’oeuvres at this year’s Pink Bedroom Party. Can we say, “Umm … Y-U-M-M-Y!” And, just when you thought the chicest fashion event of the season couldn’t possibly get more scrumptious!

“Okay everyone ... SAY (Parmesan) CHEESE !” Here I am at the Selba showroom, featuring Cambria countertops, with David Rocco and eTalk host Traci Melchor as they heat it up in the kitchen in support of this year’s Pink Bedroom Party!

This year, the Pink Bedroom Party will be held at the Berkley Church on October 1, 2009.   There’s still time to get your advance tickets for ONLY $55 online, or you can scoop them up at the door for $65 on the evening of the event!

True Happiness is … Something that Comes from Within You

I thought it a novel idea to probe some of the marvellous individuals that I interact with on a daily basis about what True Happiness means to them. This is the first post of what I hope will be an enjoyable and amusing series, which I’ve affectionately titled: True Happiness from the Neighbourhood. Enjoy!

Who: The ever-so-lovely Nancy Brown, our famous Parking Enforcement Officer.

Where: Street side in Yorkville, Toronto, Canada.

True Happiness … “Comes [From] Within Yourself.”

I must say, that this is absolutely and without question, the most wonderful piece of paper that I have ever received from a parking enforcement officer! LOL.

Actually, our local officer, Nancy Brown, really is quite lovely. She keeps our streets safe and free from parking violators, all while maintaining a superbly sunny disposition. This must largely be because she recognizes that, “True Happiness Comes from Within,” and I just couldn’t agree more!

Ever notice that the happiest people are those who exude a kind of inner joy? I believe this comes from a true and pure acceptance of who we are, as well as from our faith in knowing that we do indeed have a place in the world. Whether you happen to be a high-powered executive or a housewife, married or divorced, short or tall, we must remember that these are not the things that define us. We are all Fabulous, Unique, Creative, Beautiful, Wise, Fierce, Intuitive and Worthwhile Beings…

Whether we design handbags, or hand out parking tickets, we are a reflection of our inner light, and we are obligated to share our SPARKLE with the world! So, let that light shine by giving back to the community and supporting the causes that can make a difference … This year the Pink Bedroom Party continues to support The Campbell Family Cancer Research Institute at The Princess Margaret Hospital (the recipient for the last 3 years). The event also supports SickKids Foundation for children with cancer. The goal this year is to raise $100,000.  Come to the party , SPARKLE and SHINE and maybe find out for yourself what True Happiness is.  -  XOXO!

On Sat. June 13, 2009, around 6:00 pm during Luminato, the Pink Bedroom Party Team rocked Yorkville! Hosted by Jeanne Lottie, the Founder of the Pink Bedroom Party (www.pinkbedroomparty.com) led a parade of three professional Brazilian Samba dancers, musicians and models wearing Totem colourful flowing dresses, Jeanne Lottie fun bags and Havaianas flip flops, as they danced from the Pink House through the crowd on the busy streets of Yorkville to party co-host Clarins’ store, where they performed right out in front!

The group created lots of attention and cameras were everywhere capturing the exciting moments of the parade. The models and volunteers were handing out pamphlets for the Pink Bedroom Party 09, to be held on Oct 1 to raise money and awareness for Breast Cancer Research at Princess Margaret Hospital and kids with Cancer for the Sick Kids Hospital. The theme this year is: Party to end Cancer! Everyone is invited to host/attend a party to end Cancer. All parade guests were treated to Brazilian drinks, wine, sushi and appetizers from Caju at the back yard of the Pink House on Scollard and continued to dance with joy!
