LouLou helps us channel our inner flapper
Thursday, December 13th, 2012
It’s hard to conjure an era that so consistently brings to mind only elegance and class. The sixties? Bell bottoms, tie-dye, platforms. That says hangin’ in the park. The nineties? Power suits, minimalism, angular shoulders. That screams OFFICE. But the twenties? That’s about the only decade which when we call it to mind makes us think: drinks! feathers! smokey underground speak-easies! And yes… jazz. Not a lot of people are around to tell us about it anymore, but were the twenties the decade long decadent party that we imagine it to be? I hope so…we could use a little more lightness in our lives.
LouLou helps us bring a little of that devil-may-care spirit to our holiday season this year.

The Holiday Clutch
Sunday, December 2nd, 2012

This season’s Holiday Clutch is a no-holding-back, no-understatement-allowed, over-the-top-glamorous Swarovski crystal encrusted gem of an evening bag. We’re proud to present Lola, from the Fall/Winter collection of 2012. She’s a special one who knows that sometimes… more is more.
Generous award from a great charity

We’ve posted before about the work that the Canadian Centre for Abuse Awareness does for the community in Toronto. In addition to raising awareness, the CCAA has a number of great programs to help survivors of abuse get back on their feet. Ellen Campbell, founder of the organization, came by to present an award of contribution to our designer Jane Ip in recognition of the support that she has given the CCAA.
On top of being a beautiful person who contributes her energies to a cause that’s benefits the community immensely, Ellen is also extremely stylish! We admire her for her big heart, as well as great sense of style. For many of us who have become used to thinking of fashion as accessory, it’s heartening to be reminded being put together and looking good more than just frivolity. It’s a sign of self-respect, and empowerment.

Vita reminds us of the true nature of handbags
Thursday, October 25th, 2012
Vita Magazine’s spread cleverly reminds us that handbags are for… hands! We’re a big fan of all kinds of purses, but there’s something oh-so-ladylike about carrying a bag in your hand, or on your arm rather than on your shoulder. One downside, though: the other hand must choose between the cup of Starbucks and the iPhone.
Never to cool for school
Tuesday, October 16th, 2012

What better way to ring in the back-to-school season than a feature in in Ryerson’s new biannual magazine Folio? While we may not still be enrolled in classes come fall, we’re glad that we still look like we belong on the campus square.
The editors over at Folio went on a city-wide hunt for the best vintage finds. No, Jeanne Lottie doesn’t technically fall into the category of true vintage, but our blueberry-raspberry coloured Nellie makes a pretty great retro-looking accessory. The stylist keeps this bag fresh with the season’s chunky heels in the same colour scheme.
The new magazine is Ryerson University’s first general interest magazine. You can see all the beautiful photography that makes up the mag both in print and online here.
Ostrich gets the rainbow treatment
Wednesday, October 10th, 2012
Is there anything happier than rainbows? We love how LouLou Magazine puts the ostrich trend on display by picking out the season’s most colourful finds. Our ostrich is the one in emerald-green.

Vita says yes to Red
Wednesday, August 22nd, 2012
Vita Magazine has featured two of our season’s red-hot bags. The message? Red can be a great accent piece, but if you feel adventurous, go red all the way!
