Jazz Artist, Amanda Martinez recently dropped by the Pink House boutique and brought a little surprise: Her gorgeous baby son!

We chatted about Amanda’s upcoming shows, the success of the Pink Bedroom Party, my fall 2009 line of handbags and enjoyed the gleeful giggles of her beautifully-bouncy boy! I just can’t think of a more brilliant way to have spent an otherwise rainy and gray afternoon!
Anyway … Their visit made me realized that the modern mother has evolved beyond the typical stereotypes of yesteryear. Step aside June Cleaver, Carol Brady and Elyse Keaton, and welcome the emergence of the real-life Supermom! Contemporary Mamas like Angelina Jolie, Katie Holmes and Jennifer Garner balance successful careers, philanthropic obligations and a busy family life, all the while looking fabulously fashion forward! I don’t know about you, but I’m totally loving this whole modern mommy thing!

One might ask herself, what do all urban Supermoms have in common? Well … They’re always the go, go GO! That’s where my Casual Cross Body Unisex Bag comes to the rescue! It’s the ideal accessory for every Super-Mamasita. Perfectly convenient for diapers, wipes and designer bottom lotions, its super stylish cross body design lets marvellous mommies keep their arms ever-wrapped around their babies! Plus, it’s made from a durable and entirely wipe-able leather-like material, able to handle the real-life use of real-life moms!
The moral of this post is that women no longer have to sacrifice their fashion-sense for motherhood! Say NO to MOM-JEANS and hold-on to your fabulous super-stylie self! These days it’s all about beautiful mamas, beautiful babies, and beautiful bags!
XOXO ~

Connections, Community and … True love is … True Happiness …
Tuesday, October 6th, 2009
The state of the economy made it quite a challenge to host another Pink Bedroom Party this year. Luckily, I simply adore a good challenge – it makes things far more interesting and rewarding, don’t you think?
Pink Bedroom Party 2009 was like a reunion of old friends, spiced up with fresh new blood! No economic doom and gloom here friends, only 600+ gloriously beautiful people, adoring positivity pink couture, generously giving to support our wonderful causes!!!! It’s all about spreading the L-O-V-E …
The night began with a speech by CFRB’s Bill Carroll, the MC for the evening. He jovially recounted how seven years ago, he met his wife, Sylvie, at the Pink Bedroom Party. Now, they are a picture-perfect family of four. How FABULOUS … I mean, can you imagine? Love connections AND giving to great causes. What could be better?

I wonder if Cupid’s bow struck again this year? I guess we’ll have to wait and see!
Overall, I’d say this year’s event was a great success! Passionate people came together to give to worthy causes, at a party fused with positive energy! This year, we raised far more than money – we raised awareness, and created a community that supports SickKids and Princess Margaret hospital! Together, we made a difference!
So, the moral of the story is to NEVER give up in the face a challenge! Emails are still pouring in daily expressing how much everyone loved the event and how they’re really looking forward to Pink 2010! I always say that fabulousness rubs-off and this year, the proof is in the PARTY! AND, what’s the icing on the cake? We just had Chum FM radio confirm, they would love to sponsor Pink next year!!!
What goes around comes around. Oh YES, it’s definitely all about spreading the Love, creating connections, building communities that care … And never forgetting that True Love is … True Happiness!
XOXO ~

Mother, may I … look great and make a difference, too!
Saturday, August 22nd, 2009
Though I haven’t given birth, I am most definitely a mother, and Baby Doll is absolutely my fierce and fluffy bundle of joy!
She loves to play, barks when she wants attention, squirms and wiggles when she’s happy, and has a wardrobe that would put Suri Cruise to shame! Move over Tinkerbell and Paris, here comes Baby Doll and Moi!
But while Baby Doll dreams of endless doggy-treats, Swarovski crystal collars and catching squirrels, the children at SickKids hospital dream of a future filled with endless rainbows and infinite possibilities.
On June 09, 2009 the team at Jeanne Lottie joined forces with the fabulously talented kids at the Bear Theatre on Sickkids’ 8th floor. Together we created my SickKids tote — hand-painted with the hopes and dreams of some of the hospital’s littlest artists.

Made from durable and super-stylish denim, the SickKids tote is the perfect carry-all for any trendy-gal-about-town. That’s right ladies; yummy mummies and first-class fashionistas are joining forces for a greater good! So, embrace your inner philanthropist, because this bag can really make a difference!
Available for sale on October 9th to raise money for kids with cancer, the SickKids Tote will be offered through my online store and in retail locations across Canada.
Okay … so maybe Baby Doll will never be a great painter, but she totally approves of a bag that can easily carry a month’s worth of kibble – and spread a whole lotta LOVE too!

XOXO~

A Picture is Worth More Than a Thousand Words
Friday, August 14th, 2009
You see Manho. And then you don’t see Manho … No, he’s not hiding, he’s just quiet …

Manho has been with the Jeanne Lottie team for 24 years. He’s hard-working, smart, humble – and he doesn’t look a day older than when I first hired him. How fabulous, I mean, can you imagine?!? Anyway, though he’s not a chatty fellow, Manho always seems to get his message out there and in doing so, imparts glorious bits of insight and inspiration to us all!
He once sent me a scenic postcard while vacationing in Vietnam. The card contained no details about his trip; instead, it said very simply, “A picture is worth more than a thousand words.” Upon reading it, I recall thinking:
“Hoooow true!”
I firmly believe that our everyday fashion choices inadvertently create our own Personal Style Postcard… And, what we want that Postcard to SAY is entirely up to us!
When I want to proclaim, “Boy, I’m feeling great (and super cute) today,” I always wear a fun and colourful sundress. When I want to declare, “Today, I’m sultry and mysterious,” I love to do a trim black pantsuit, with sky-high heels and dark sunshades. And, when I’m not so sure what I want to say, I let one of my Lottie Da Vintage Newsprint bags DO ALL THE TALKING!

The Lottie Da Vintage Newsprint bags come in a sleek and stylish clutch, as well as a larger cut-out tote. Day or night, these bags can go everywhere that you need to take them! They’re neutral enough to work with essentially any ensemble and feature a whimsical vintage newsprint pattern that pops and bursts with colour and graphic images. One thing’s for sure, these bags can certainly SAY IT ALL – I know that Manho would approve!
Want to share your Personal Style Postcard with the Jeanne Lottie team? Send us a photo of yourself in your chicest attire and sporting your fave Jeanne Lottie bag. You could be featured as the subject of a blog post or included in an online album with some of our most style-forward customers!
XO!

Make ‘Em Howl Using Your Animal Magnetism!
Monday, July 27th, 2009
Baby Doll doesn’t like to look at herself in the mirror.
I guess she doesn’t want to admit that she’s just a dog.

“Not possible”, you say?
Well, she sleeps in the same bed as Mommy, walks absolutely everywhere with me, chats with everyone that I talk to, and, of course, has her own fabulous wardrobe of fun and ferocious attire! After all, if Mommy is a style forward Fashionista, then it’s only reasonable to assume that Baby Doll and I are indeed, “like mother, like daughter”, in every way, right??? Besides, it would be ever so hard to convince her of her own K-9ificence when yours truly happens to have been born in the year of the Dog!
I suppose what I’m trying to say is, any way you look at it, Baby Doll and I certainly are Not Just Mere Chiens!
If you’re looking to UNLEASH some of your own animal magnetism, then try LEASHING your handbag, with my super fierce Bracelet Clutch. It’s a great piece that can take your power suit straight through to cocktail hour at even the most style forward of Ossington indie rock bars!

So when you want to Make ‘Em Howl, Rock Out with your Croc Out!
Because True Happiness is…, Being whoever you want to be and embracing your inner Chic!

Jeanne Lottie And Her Mom
Friday, June 19th, 2009
My mother was admitted to the emergency room about three years ago with a heart problem. She had been so full of energy, and then all of a sudden, she was lying in bed, not even able to feed herself.

Today, at 87 years old, she is alive and well! She laughs a lot and complains too of course, like everyone else. It’s love from all of us keeping her well. One day she will be gone, but her biggest heart will never be forgotten.
