| Jane Ip, the creator of Jeanne Lottie, was born in 1958 in Hong Kong and became a Canadian in the 1980s. After graduating with psychology and business degrees from Portland State University in Oregon, she obtained the MBA from York University in 1984. A year later, Jane started Jeanne Lottie with her sister, Charlotte, and used a combination of both their names together to give life to Jeanne Lottie, Jun Look Tai--which, when pronounced in Chinese, means true happiness, the philosophy behind the creation of the company.
Jeanne Lottie is a name synonymous with stylish, affordable and fun handbags and the recently launched fragrance, Diamand Rose, available exclusively at Sears across Canada. The line is distributed across the country in department and specialty shops and sells only to an exclusive clientele at Jane's Victorian Pink House in the historical and highly fashionable neighbourhood of Yorkville in Toronto. The house is also where the Pink Bedroom Party, the charity event to raise money for Breast Cancer Research, originated.
Jane is a world traveler. Milan, Paris, London, Australia, Thailand, Egypt, Spain, Peru, Ecuador, Argentina, Brazil, Columbia, Chili, Mexico, Cuba, the Bahamas, Bermuda and Costa Rica are amongst her many global visits.
Jane fell in love with Park Guell in Barcelona, the pink houses in Bermuda, the massive glaciers/icebergs at Lake Argentina, the mysteries of Macchu Pichu and Lake Titicaca, Teotihuacán in Mexico, pink dolphins in the Amazon River, blue booty birds, penguins and sea lions in Galapagos, the Igussau Falls in Brazil, the Canadian Beavers in Usuhaia at the end of the world, Hemingway's legacy and architectural buildings in Havana and, most recently, the 21 species of hummingbirds in the paradise rainforest at the Peace Lodge and hot springs spa Tabacon Volcano Arena in Costa Rica while celebrating her 50th birthday. But for Jane, it's more than just about travel. It's the inspiration from all these places that continues to make the pink house right here at home a dream and living effortlessly. It's a way to connect to nature, and to build a tree house, behind the Pink house, the home of Jeanne Lottie in Yorkville, Toronto, Canada. The treehouse should
be completed by August 2008 to inspire you, too!
